Food Photo Friday - Dai Due

Our friends from Bola Pizza weren't at the downtown Austin SFC Farmer's Market last Saturday, so we were forced to eat outside the box. Fortunately, the folks at Dai Due had our backs with this decadent maple pork belly on Texas toast with a fried duck egg on top. It was a great way to start the weekend.

Although I didn't get a photo of them, the peaches from Lightsey Farms were phenomenal. Truly as sweet as candy; I hope they're there this weekend.

What are your favorite farmer's market finds?

  1. I've loved cooking with and eating duck eggs. Baked goods come out so rich and moist, they're incredible!

  2. Victor, that's a great tip - thanks! Where do you source your duck eggs?

  3. I had duck tamales with a fried duck egg on top last weekend in Dallas. I'm in the mood for more duck and always pork belly.

  4. This was so delicious! And those lightsy peaches are amazing. I bought a bag and ate them joyfully the next few days. They were great cut up over ice cream too.

  6. Nathan: Ahhhhh! Love Dai Due! I think I also mentioned Bola Pizza to you, which is also at the downtown farmer's market on Saturdays. SUCH good pizza - if you search my blog, there are a couple of posts about them here, too!
